Process & Pricing

An estimate is submitted after discussing the project, schedule and budget with the client. Once these are established, a preliminary sketch is sent via email for approval. Revised versions of the sketch are sent, as needed, and final color art is built upon the approved version. Files are submitted to the client via email attachment or FTP upload.

Fees are based partly on usage and rights purchased, but primarily on the level of detail. Concept sketches are included in the price of the finished illustration.

...is broken loosely into elements. A figure or object, such as a dog or vehicle, equals one element. Backgrounds and environments, such as a city scape or a crowd, are also equal to one element. Several minor objects -- for instance an ashtray and whiskey bottle of a man drinking -- may be grouped together as one element. Additional color shading or stylization of the entire image also constitutes one element.
